Oh that is so funny! I am sitting here with tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks. It shows you how many of these little rituals are just memorized, but the kids have no idea what they are saying. Wait until they get to the national anthem!
There was also a whole thing right before this round of it where he was saying “for livertine and justice for all.” Livertine = worst Ovaltine variation ever.
I had my first sub assignment on Thursday and there happened to be an assembly. During the Pledge of Allegiance, I couldn’t help but think of Richard Stans and laughed audibly when I got to that part. I wonder if they’ll ask me back?

Ah yes, Richard Stans, of course! You know him, he’s the cousin of Jose Canyousee.
Oh, and to Robyn: Agreed! Julie kept such a stern and straight voice with her intervention of “and to the republic.” Had I been behind the camera throughout this entire exchange one would have barely been able to make out what was happening due to the shakes.

Now imagine how hard it was for me to record it without laughing. It was all I could do to keep it together.
The National Anthem always makes me think of Ramona and her “dawnserly light.”

I love Henry’s patience with his little brother and I don’t know which is better: “I pleasure allegiance” or “for Richard Stans.”

It reminds me of those two books of misheard song lyrics: Hold Me Closer, Tony Danza and “Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy”…I love it!

It’ll soon be time for Round John Virgin, and my favorite Other Reindeer, Olive.
Julie, you did really well not laughing…good use of the stern, clear voice to cover your giggles.

Bravo! Encore!
