Knitting Journal |

I decided to make a journal to keep track of my knitting. I thought it would be interesting to see how I progressed with knitting. It also seemed like a good idea to keep track of what yarn I used for each project, and to have one place to keep yarn labels, so I'd know where to go if I needed washing instructions. I also wanted to try making a codex-style binding, which is a hardcover binding that looks like what most of us imagine a "book" to look like. I'm going to post photos of this (rather than scans) when I finish this roll of film. They give a slightly better idea of how this looks, as a book. |

I decided to actually knit something for the front cover, since it would be my knitting journal. This was also my first attempt at cables. The cover cloth is a really lovely semi-iridescent dark red, which is a little hard to see here. |

I wanted to do something a little different for my endpapers, so I made a stamp in the shape of a sweater. Next time I'm going to just use rubber stamp ink, since the block printing ink I used took forever to dry. I really wanted it to be a reddish-brown to match the cover, though. |
