Valentine's Day Card (2002)

 

Here's a Valentine's Day card I made for Dave.

 

I made a heart template on my computer, and then resized it several times. Then I traced the differently sized hearts on different colors of paper, and cut them out. I didn't realize until I took a book making class that you should cut all the paper edges after they're all together. I made them all the same size, which is why they overlap strangely on the bottom.

 

I wrote a line of a limerick (that I made up) on each page. The limerick was:

There once was a fellow named Dave,
Who was talented, handsome, and brave,
One day he met Julie,
And being no fool, he
Taught her sine, cosine, and wave.

(Dave's an engineer.)

I'm not going to bother showing you every page of the card, since you can probably get the idea from just this picture.
