January 28, 2002. Sorry I haven't updated much. I've been working on the second Porthole sock. I'm almost done with it, I think. I'm not quite to the toe decreases, but once I get there, it will be done in no time. I also finally cast on the front of Rowan Jack. And I've been working on a small submission for Knitty, which I really have to get moving on and finish if I want it to be considered for the Spring issue. I'm almost done though. In other news, I have agreed to be Clara's booth helper (or "fearless booth babe" as she calls it) at the Spa Knit & Spin in Portland next month. What Clara doesn't realize is that I have a perverse love of hawking goods to people from behind a trade show table. So I'm really looking forward to it. Also looking forward to seeing Melissa again, since she said she'll be there.

January 14, 2003. Had a lovely lunch with Clara today. I forced her to go to my favorite lunch spot so I could get my yam fry fix for the week. I also handed over the $6.50 for my very own Betty and her Beau notepad. I'm so pleased! Even better in person! And just last night I was in need of a small notepad to make a list. Now I have one! Forgot to mention to you all that for Christmas I did what is affectionately called in my family "pulling a Nana." I gave my mom one sock. My grandmother was very artistic and crafty, but was famous for starting projects and not finishing them. Anyway, Mom is getting the Porthole socks. I've got one done (the one I gave Mom), and have turned the heel and done the gusset decreases on the other, so I'm almost there.

January 4, 2003. I got an adorable picture of the recipient of the hooded baby sweater, showing how well it fits her. Go see! We're sort of snowed in here. I think I'll finally cast on for the front of Rowan Jack.

January 2, 2003. Oh my goodness, the Knitter's Review boutique gets better by the hour! This baby doll tee rocks! Everyone go buy one! Design a cute keyhole sweater that highlights the slogan! Also, I need one of those Betty and her Beau notepads. I love how they look like they're trapped in a little window in the paper. Must contact Clara so I can complete the transaction next time she's in Portland. |
