June 3, 2002. Towel complete! I actually finished this on May 23, but then I went on vacation, so I didn't have time to update this page. Anyway, here's a real photo, where you can also get a much better idea of the actual color.

I can't begin to tell you how off this color is.

May 14, 2002. I'm hoping to get a lot done on this hooded towel tonight, because Dave is out of town. It's nice that the yarn is so bulky, but the huge needles (size 13) are kind of making my hands hurt. It's pretty cool how towelish this is looking, though of course the disadvantage to that is that you can't really see your stitches. What's that? Why yes, of course I've already dropped a stitch. It took a ridiculous amount of time to even find it, but then it wasn't too hard to pick up. Still. I'm being extra careful, since the only reason I knew I'd dropped a stitch was because I counted, and I don't really feel like stopping to count my stitches all the time.

May 12, 2002. I'm actually knitting this towel in the suggested yarn, Lion Brand Terryspun in seaspray. Part of the reason I'm doing this towel right now (besides the fact that some college friends of mine had a baby about a month ago) is that it's fairly basic, so I can relearn how to knit and purl, since I found out I was twisting all my stitches. It's going pretty well so far, and this is knitting up very quickly, but the Terryspun is sort of a pain to knit with, because it's so fluffy and loopy. I've got almost 3 inches done already though (that's very fast for me). It's a lot greener than it looks in these pictures.

May 11, 2002. I started on the hooded baby towel, which will look like this when it's finished:
It's from the Summer 2001 Knitter's Magazine.
